The Newberry Opera House
In 1996, the town undertook an extensive renovation of the opera house that added 10,000 square feet of space and transformed it, once again, into a state-of-the-art performance facility. The opera house now hosts many performances each year including musical and play performances in genres such as rock, bluegrass, classical, beach, family, and more.
Parks
Newberry is home to many park-lands and trails as well as developed local parks. Many of our parks feature amenities such as trails, playgrounds, disc golf, horseshoes, tennis, basketball courts, and athletic fields.
Government
The regular monthly meetings of Newberry City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings begin at 7:00 P.M. and are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 1330 College Street, Newberry, SC.
Healthcare
The area's primary health care center is Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) provides general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients.
